Psst! Hey, have you met Ivan?
He’s the one over there asleep on one of the kennel staff’s laps, looking all cuddly and cute. It appears this picture of tranquility is one of his typical moments of repose.
He definitely has the classic dignified look of a miniature version of a Doberman pinscher, doesn’t he? Throw a little Chihuahua into the mix and you have a small dog with the heart of a lion that isn’t afraid to show his silly side.
You’d never know that that 7-year-old little man came to KCAC as a stray! He seems so happy, especially when he’s getting all the attention. He’s pretty good around other dogs, too, although the larger dogs kind of intimidate him — one low rider staring up at the world!
Ivan has an active side, too. Short walks are definitely part of his daily plan to keep his youthful physique, and he’s not afraid to play with toys if someone wants to play with him. Better yet, fire up the camera and spend a rainy day posting his pictures on social media.
He’ll love the attention!

Congratulations to Bingo, our shy little Chihuahua buddy whose forever family walked in the door at KCAC, took one look at him and promptly made a place for him in their hearts.
We are so happy for you, Bingo!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
