The circuit judges of the 16th Judicial Circuit have selected Salvatore LoPiccolo to fill the associate judge position vacated by the retirement of Judge Thomas Stanfa.

LoPiccolo was admitted to the bar in November 1987. He began his legal career with the Kane County States Attorney’s Office in 1988 until he became the first assistant to the elected State’s Attorney in Boone County, IL.

He returned to the Kane County States Attorney’s Office in 2013, where he still practices today.

LoPiccolo is a graduate of St. Edwards High School in Elgin. He received his bachelor’s degree and his Law Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE.

LoPiccolo served as a captain in the Field Artillery, with the U.S. Army from 1982 until 1987, with his final assignment being with the 2^nd Armored Cavalry in Bindlach, Germany.

He will take the bench on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Kane County Branch Court in St. Charles.
