ButterBurgers & Badges Fundraiser Is Aug. 30 at Culver’s Locations in Kane County
St. Charles police officers will be at the Culvers at 111 S. Randall Road, in St. Charles from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois.
Police officers from West Chicago will be at the 4068 E. Main St. Culvers and South Elgin police will be at the 280 S. Randall Road Culver’s at that same date and time.
It’s part of the “ButterBurgers & Badges” event that features local law enforcement officers serving Culver’s guests dining inside or visiting the drive-through.
The officers will collect “tips” for their service that will be donated to Special Olympics Illinois, along with one dollar for every concrete mixer dessert purchased. In addition, local Special Olympics athletes will be on hand to meet and greet guests and sign autographs.
“A main component of the city of St. Charles mission statement is service,” said event organizer Officer Jennifer Larsen. “We take pride in serving St. Charles, whether it’s through our daily police work or by volunteering in the community for a good cause.
“So far this year, the Police Department has raised more than $10,000 for Special Olympics of Illinois and we hope to add to this total before the year ends.”
