Niche Report: Geneva School District Ranked Best in Kane County

You’ve already seen the stories we’ve posted on the Best Public High Schools and the Best Private High Schools in Kane County. But what about school district? How are our public schools at all levels doing in Kane County in Niche’s 2019 rankings?

The answer to that last question is, “Very well, thank you.”

Five Kane County school districts were among Niche’s best in the state of Illinois, earning numerical rankings. The others earned good grades but did not make the top 83.

Kane County’s top five were Geneva Community Unit School District 304, St. Charles Community Unit School District 303, Batavia Public School District 101, Central Community Unit School District 301 in Burlington and Community Unit School District 300 in Algonquin.

Indian Prairie Community Unit School District 204 in Aurora was the fifth-ranked school district in the state, but was not categorized as within Kane County.

The best school district in Illinois was Community High School District 128 in Vernon Hills.

It has 12,915 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. According to state test scores, 52% of students are at least proficient in math and 53% in reading.

(46) Central Community Unit School District No. 301

It has 3,848 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. According to state test scores, 51% of students are at least proficient in math and 53% in reading.

(74) Community Unit School District No. 300

Niche: Community Unit School District No. 300 is an above average, public school district located in Algonquin, IL. It has 20,926 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. According to state test scores, 32% of students are at least proficient in math and 34% in reading.
