Here comes Pete, a handsome, 3-year-old gray, white and black domestic shorthair!
His green eyes focus in on you as he stares you in the face, ready to tell you his purpose: Please don’t leave KCAC’s cat room without him.
Owner-surrendered due to the lack of attention his former family felt he deserved, Pete’s needs are simple: a warm lap, some cuddling, a few petting sessions and a new family that is willing to recognize what a fabulous little man he is.
Super sweet, he enjoys getting held, but he’s not overly insistent in his demands. He does well with other cats, but is willing to spend much of his day by himself just as long as he can have some lap-time with some gentle petting thrown in.

KCAC Updates
It must have been Adopt-a-Husky Week last week because both of KCAC’s Huskies, Sophia and Sage, found their forever homes! After so many false starts, Sage’s new family is prepared to put in the required training hours she will need so she can finally have that forever home.
Sophia, the 9-month old red-husky mix was adopted by a family that is more than capable of keeping her energy at a trainable level as they teach her the rules of the house.
In both cases, there was no shortage of the amount of love shared between humans and canines. Congratulations, you two!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
