First there was milling, now comes the paving, curb and gutter work.

Work on the Annual County Resurfacing program is scheduled to continue milling and also begin paving on Randall Road from U.S. 20 to I-90 the week of Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.

Construction work hours will be during the night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday with temporary daily lane closures and flaggers directing traffic.

The resurfacing process is part of KDOT’s annual maintenance to increase the longevity of county roads. This portion of milling and paving is anticipated to take four weeks to complete. Listed below are the portions of roads to be milled.

Randall Road will remain open during construction, but may require temporary daily lane closures and flaggers. Motorists should expect long delays while traveling through the work areas and should add additional time to their commutes.

Drivers are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, obey flaggers and comply with traffic control devices within the work zone. Motorists may want to consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

KDOT reminds drivers that  it is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.

Drivers in this project area should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, watch for construction workers and construction vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone.

KDOT reminds drivers that is illegal to talk on a cell phone or text while driving through a highway construction work zone. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375.
