‘How To Recycle Right’ — Save The Date For Jennifer Jarland’s Oct. 10 Presentation
You are invited to attend a free presentation on “How to Recycle Right” in Kane County!
The presentation is set for Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the auditorium of Building A at the Kane County Government Center in Geneva.
Kane County’s Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland will offer salient advice on reigning in the “wish-cycling frenzy” and promoting the best and most effective ways to recycle.
An RSVP is required.

How To Recycle — Made Easy
Get the lowdown on what you should be recycling at home and at work.
Jennifer will cover what can and cannot go in your curbside recycling cart, the 2018 sea change in the recycling industry, and the statewide work being done on reducing contamination in recycling streams.
She will also share top recycling tips that answer the most commonly asked questions.
How To Recycle More
Learn about where you can recycle other items, beyond what you can put in your curbside cart, at drop-off locations throughout Kane County: Styrofoam, electronics, books, hazardous waste, batteries, paint, and more.
2019 Event Schedule
The hot-off-the-press 2019 schedule of Recycling Events will be released at this meeting, including four free confidential document shredding dates for next year.
Ask Your Burning Questions
There will also be plenty of time for you to have your own questions answered and for you to chat with Jennifer about your efforts and successes in waste minimization!

Speaker Bio
Jennifer Jarland has been the recycling program coordinator for Kane County since 2011. Her work includes managing the electronics recycling sites, conducting recycling collection events, household hazardous waste program management, and public outreach.
While municipalities all contract for curbside collection, Jennifer is the hotline for all questions related to recycling.
While managing, improving, and expanding recycling programs for Kane County, she also works with fellow Illinois county and agency colleagues on broader state issues, such as food scrap composting, electronics recycling, and a task force for recycling contamination reduction.
She is currently serves as the chairman of the board of the Illinois Food Scrap Coalition and as secretary on the Board of the Illinois Counties Solid Waste Management Association.
A student of life, Jennifer enjoys making art out of found objects, growing an organic food garden in her back yard in Chicago, spending time with friends and being in nature, be it the urban jungle or otherwise.
