In celebration of Manufacturing Day on Oct. 5, Invest Aurora and Valley Industrial Association will be hosting a job fair for manufacturers in the Aurora region.

Job seekers interested in attending should bring plenty of resumes and dress for success.

• When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5
• Where: Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave. Aurora, IL 60506
• Cost: FREE

To date, 16 manufacturers have committed to being there with immediate openings. These companies include Carl Buddig and Company, Greencore USA, International Paper, Weldstar, and many more.

In addition to employers, there will also be available resources form local groups for potential job seekers and employers. Groups such as the Association for Individual Development, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, and Illinois Work net will be at the event to help those seeking employment strengthen their chances.

Resources at the event will help with:

• Resume Writing
• Interview Skills
• Navigating Online Job Hunting and Applications

Starting at noon, there will be free workshops hosted by the resource partners. Topics to include what employers are looking for in an interview, paid apprenticeship programs and available resources that will help you get the job.
