KDOT: West County Line Road Bridge Is Open!

The Kane County Division of Transportation is happy to announce that the West County Line Road bridge over Union Ditch #3 bridge replacement project near the village of Maple Park has been substantially completed.

The bridge was replaced as part of the county’s comprehensive road and bridge maintenance program, which has the goal of providing a safe and efficient transportation system for the motoring public.

Work started in early May, when KDOT closed West County Line Road to traffic between Beith Road and Winters Road near the village of Maple Park in order to replace the existing bridge.

While the bridge is substantially complete, there are a few punch list and landscaping items that will be completed within the next few weeks, KDOT said in a news release.

These items will require workers and equipment to operate in the right of way with possible temporary lane or shoulder closures to protect the workers. KDOT asks drivers to exercise caution while traveling on the new bridge and watch out for workers and equipment entering and leaving the roadway.

“The county appreciates your support, cooperation and patience during construction of this important project, which was an integral part of this project’s success,” the KDOT news release said.
