Pickup Driver Airlifted After Crash in St. Charles Township

The driver of a pickup truck had to be airlifted and two other people were injured in a Thursday afternoon crash at the intersection of Silver Glenn Road and Stevens Road in unincorporated St Charles Township.

According to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies reported at around 3:20 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 27, 2018) to a report of a traffic crash.

The initial investigation indicates that a Honda Accord was traveling south on Stevens Road and stopped for a stop sign at the intersection with Silver Glenn Road. The Honda entered the intersection and was struck by a Chevy pickup truck that was traveling west on Silver Glenn Road.

The truck then spun and collided another Honda Accord that was traveling east on Silver Glenn Road.

Traffic on Silver Glenn Road does not have to stop at the intersection.

The driver of the Chevy pickup truck was transported to a Chicago area hospital by helicopter with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the first Honda Accord was treated and released at the scene.

The driver of the second Honda Accord was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, once all parties are identified and the investigation is complete an additional release will be sent out.
