Portions of Red Gate Bridge to Close Sept. 15 For Utility Work

Roads in St. Charles and Geneva will be closed this weekend for the Fox Valley Marathon, but they aren’t the only lane closures this weekend.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, portions of the westbound lane of the Red Gate bridge will be closed temporarily at each end of the bridge, weather permitting, according to a city of St. Charles news release.

St. Charles’ electric utility will be working in manholes to install pipes for future fiber optic cables on either side of the Red Gate Bridge on Red Gate Road.

Work is expected to begin at 8 a.m. and be completed by 3 p.m. Flaggers will be at each end to direct traffic safely around the worksite. Drivers should slow down and proceed with caution in the work zone.

Please contact the St. Charles Electric Division for more information at 630-377-4407.
