What happens when you mix the “I’ll never grow up” high-spirited and friendly attitude of a black Labrador retriever with that of the aristocratic, energetic and friendly attributes of a German shorthaired pointer?
You get the best of both breeds in a 2-year-old little man named Bowzer!
Bowzer
Bowzer is quite the energetic fellow, full of life, vim and vigor! If you ask him what type of forever family he would like to spend the rest of his life with, he lets you know that he needs an active family that will take him on a run or two during the day to help expend his energy.
He definitely enjoys the outdoors, so if you’re not a runner, but enjoy taking brisk walks on a cool Fall day, Bowzer will be more than happy to walk alongside you so he can sniff every leaf, bush and flower. Once his pent-up liveliness has been released, it’s back home again for a quick nap before dinner.
Always willing to learn, Bowzer is extremely smart and is not afraid to become the teacher’s pet as he works his way up to the head-of-the-class. Basic training with a capital T will not only tire Bowzer out, but will begin to give this amazing dog the proper socialization and good citizenship he needs to become even more remarkable as the best dog ever.

How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
