Rich Harvest Farms To Host Sept. 15-16 Northern Intercollegiate Golf Tournament
Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove will once again be hosting Northern Illinois University’s Men’s golf team’s annual tournament: the 2018 Northern Intercollegiate.
The two-day tournament takes place from Sept. 15 to Sept. 16 and brings in 14 of the best up-and-coming teams to the area.
At the last Northern Intercollegiate, Marquette University dominated the field. The Golden Eagles set a school record score for the 54-hole event, finishing with a 32-under-par 832, and student athlete Oliver Farrell shared co-medalist honors with Virginia’s Ashton Poole by shooting 14-under-par.
Marquette will be returning to defend its title.
The event is free and open to the public.
Jerry Rich, the owner and designer of Rich Harvest Farms, is encouraging area golf fans to attend.
“My gates are not open very often, so if you have not yet had the chance to walk my grounds and enjoy a 300 acre showcase of nature and agriculture, the Northern Intercollegiate is the time to do it,” he said.
Eighth Annual Northern Intercollegiate
Rich Harvest Farms, home course for the Northern Illinois University Huskies men’s and women’s golf teams, will be hosting the 2018 Northern Intercollegiate Tournament. Each university will have a team of five players.
An additional 17 individuals will compete, as well.
WHEN: Sept. 15-16, 2018
The players will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday; Saturday’s shotgun start is at 8:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sunday’s shotgun start is at 8:15 a.m.

WHO: The 2018 Northern Intercollegiate champions, Marquette University, will be returning to defend their title among the 14-team field.
Also included is Aurora University, a Division III school that is competing on the behest of Jerry Rich, owner of Rich Harvest Farms.
