Popular St. Charles Fire Department Open House Saturday, Oct. 13

The St. Charles Fire Department will host an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Fire Station No. 1 and the municipal parking lot, 112 N. Riverside Ave.

Family activities include:

  • Live burn demonstration
  • Vehicle extrication
  • Scuba diving
  • Rope rescue
  • Safety house
  • Combat challenge for kids

Fire engines, fire trucks, off road vehicles, and rescue boats will all be on display along with various other tools and equipment.

“The open house is a fun time for families and a great way for children to learn about fire safety,” said Fire Chief Joseph Schelstreet. “We highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to take a tour, visit with the different members of the department, and to ask any questions that you might have.”
