When you walk into the cat room at Kane County Animal Control with the express purpose of visiting with Honey, a gray 3-year-old domestic longhair cat, she might be the first one to greet you.
Honey
An owner surrender, Honey has the look of a cat not wanting to be ignored. Majestic with green eyes the size of saucers and long gray hair that hides a very petite figure, Honey is definitely the purrfect additional family member.
At first, she might scurry away to stare out at you from underneath a cat tower. But as other cats come up to check out the visitor, Honey will finally make her move. Before you know it, she’s crossed over onto the first available lap and begins to rub her face all over their shoes and pants.
The more petting she gets the more she twirls, rubs and spins begging to get in as much as possible. It’s at this point that her purr engine starts up and she is now so contented that little squeak sounds emit from her throat. She crawls in and out of the lap, not wanting this moment of gratification to end.
And she will gladly tell you how much she loves all the attention when the two of you have your next petting — cuddling session because Honey enjoys a good conversation to whomever is willing to listen.
If you’re looking for a “honey” of a feline to add just the right amount of love to your life, then Honey is definitely the cat for you.
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
