South Elgin Police: Remains Found in Forest Preserve Were Not Human
On Sunday morning (Oct. 7, 2018), the South Elgin Police Department along with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the McLean Fen Forest Preserve for a reported sighting of human remains.
Officers and the Kane County Coroner’s Office determined the bones found were not human but were of an animal.
“The South Elgin Police Department would like to thank a citizen for notifying the police of this suspicious incident,” Police Chief Jerry Krawczyk said via Facebook. “We understand several posts appeared on other social media outlets. To help alleviate anxiety caused by speculative posts, we always encourage citizens to contact the South Elgin Police (847-741-2151) with concerns about criminal or suspicious activity.”
