National Entrepreneurial Workshop For Veterans Coming Dec. 5 to Aurora
A national-touring entrepreneurial education and business development workshop for veterans and active military personnel is coming Wednesday, Dec. 5, to Waubonsee Community College’s Aurora campus.
The event, hosted by the Women’s Business Development Center at Waubonsee Community College, is part of the Newman’s Own Campus Tours that have been taking place throughout Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The half-day workshop is free of charge and provides entrepreneurial education and business development training to male and female active duty reserve, national guard and retired veteran students and their spouses.
This year’s campus tours will offer workshops in three growth areas:
- Starting your Business from Scratch: Developing a plan for your business — Attendees will understand the importance of a business plan, the difference between a traditional and one-page version and will have an opportunity to begin developing a one-page business plan.
- The 5 M’s of Marketing: A framework to create a successful advertising platform — Attendees will understand marketing methods and will work on creating a marketing plan for their business idea.
- Introduction to Certifications and Government Contracting — Attendees will be introduced to the basics of certification and how to position themselves to successfully do business with the government.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Waubonsee Community College Downtown Aurora Campus,18 S. River St., Room 257.
