It’s not the big mega-monster jackpot that has people talking for weeks at a time, but it is good to know — especially this time of year — that there’s always the possibility of a little something extra under the tree.

A quick look at the Illinois Lottery website shows that a Geneva man won $50,000 is a recent Powerball drawing.

“David M.” of Geneva bought his winning ticket at the local Geneva Car Wash Mini Mart at 618 S First St.

According to the lottery website, “he has been playing the lottery for many, many, many years and found out he had won while at home with his family.”
