Look! Across the room! It’s a blur!
Is it a speed skater? The Flash? Elon Musk’s new high-speed underground rail?
No, it’s Max, the wonder dog, a 1-year-old Terrier-mix!

If you’re looking for short words and phrases to attribute to Max, you might try “high-energy” and “off the chain” because Max is a wild child in need of an abundance of training. The word “active” doesn’t even begin to describe this happy little guy.
But wait! Don’t give up on him that fast! He has extreme potential to turn into the best dog and BFF ever! He’s a real sweetheart that’s never had a chance to find his boundaries. His former owners were not able to take the time to train him, but that didn’t harness his loving personality.
He is extremely friendly around people and loves spending time with his family. Throw a small stuffed toy and he’ll happily chase it around the room until he gets bored.
If small dogs can mind their P’s and Q’s and don’t mind a little nosiness on Max’s part, then he’s all in for play dates and running in the yard to see who can careen around the corner the fastest.
Getting him to calm down might take an early morning run or walk in the fresh air to make him tired. Then on to some breakfast and a short training session, followed up by a longer walk later in the day. More training toward the end of the day and dinner, then perhaps a short walk and, by then, Max is snoring on the couch, cuddled up with his person who is now asleep in front of the television.
Ahhh, the perfect life!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
