His name is Vader, but he’s not Luke Skywalker’s father!
He’s only 1-year-old and he’s already been a stray, walking between neighborhoods, unsure of his next meal or where he could rest his head come nightfall.

In the dark, he wouldn’t be easily seen by predators since he could use his coloring to his advantage by fading into the blanket of night. But once the moon gave way to the sun, he would be out in the open, vulnerable to all.
Luckily for him a very caring Good Samaritan realized that this panther-like Domestic Shorthair was too handsome to have grown up on the streets of West Dundee.
With yellow eyes that glow with an understanding of his existence, Vader enjoys the company of other cats and playing with toys. He’s very active and will spend his time chasing a stuffed mouse or running from one niche to another.
Extremely sweet natured, Vader does his best to get the attention of the humans in the room to pet him. Once his offer is taken up, he moves into the cuddling position and refuses to give up until he’s had his fill.
Vader is the purr-fect feline to spend this holiday season with as well as into the New Year.

Lindy
The second time around is magic for Lindy, the little terrier-mix that was adopted from KCAC and then returned. She is happily living the good life in her new home with her new mom and dad just in time for the holidays.
Congratulations, Lindy! You deserve nothing but the best!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
