Feb. 8 Solar Forum Explores Illinois Benefits of Future Energy Jobs Act

The Fox Valley Sustainability Network will hold a Solar Energy Forum from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the Heritage Ballroom at the Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way.

The Future Energy Jobs Act and its impact on businesses, citizens, and municipalities will be explored. FEJA strengthens the Illinois economy by taking important steps toward our state’s clean energy future.

About 70 percent of the funds from the overall legislation will focus on kick starting clean energy, causing Illinois to reduce its carbon emissions by more than 50 percent from 2012 levels by 2030.

The Act will protect 4,200 jobs and preserve $1.2 billion in economic activity annually in Illinois.

FEJA will also invest more than $750 million in programs for low-income communities, through programs like Illinois Solar for All, community solar and job training programs.

Other solar topics planned to be discussed are: community solar, municipal aggregation of solar, and solar group buy programs. The forum will focus on the next steps that you can take to implement these solar approaches if you interested in participating.

Attend the FVSN Forum to learn more about FEJA and solar initiatives in our area.

The FVSN Solar Forum is free and open to all. Please register for the event here.
