The white mask covers his entire face framed on top by a hood of black. He slyly gives you a look out of the corner of his eye that says, “I’m ready to play, are you ready to run?”
Sly
His name is Sly and he is every inch a Siberian husky. At 1-year-old, this sweet boy, found as a stray, is basically pretty calm and quiet for his breed. He can even be a little shy with strangers, but it doesn’t take any time at all for him to warm up to his new two-legged friends.
He gets along very well with dogs of all sizes as long as his new playmates don’t mind spending the day wrestling and roughhousing. He’s all about expending energy so his new parents will need to work on his dog socialization skills to get him to stop and calm down a little after a certain amount of playtime.
Sly is not only a wonderful dog that needs a little training, but is enough of a fun-loving goofball that he will keep his forever family forever in a happy frame of mind!

Pumpkin
It is with a collective sigh of relief and a fond farewell that we congratulate Pumpkin, the 13-year-old old domestic shorthair on finding his new home.
Pumpkin has the sweetest personality ever given to a cat. An owner-surrender due to difficult circumstances in the home, Pumpkin patiently sunned himself in the cat room while waiting for his new forever family to come get him.
We’re so happy for you, Pumpkin!
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
