When you first meet Bonnie, you might be a little confused when it comes to her breed. Her face says “Golden retriever” but the rest of her calls out “German shepherd!”

Might she be the newest designer canine? A Golden shepherd or a German retriever?

No, she’s just Bonnie, a 7-year-old mix-breed that came to KCAC as a stray. She definitely encompasses the sweet dispositions of both breeds, as she is extremely friendly when meeting new people or other dogs.

Her gentleness is refreshing, her demeanor is quiet, reserved, but curious. She likes to spend most of her time exploring the outdoors or relaxing inside with her favorite people.

Because she had a life lived in “before,” she is able to relate to long walks and naps afterwards. Her face is extremely expressive and when she has to take a potty break, she is capable of letting her person know right away.

If you’re missing something from social media, spending your days and nights looking high and low for that one entity that has your back and won’t steer you wrong in any situation, then Bonnie definitely meets all the essential aspects of a best friend forever.

Rodger

Congratulations to Rodger, our high-energy 1-year-old Doberman Pincher-mix with the happy-go-lucky attitude.

Rodger never met anyone he didn’t like or couldn’t jump on. We are so happy to report that he was adopted and wasted no time springing into his new mom’s car.

He is happily living the good life running rings around his new brother.

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
