UPDATE: Most Non-Emergency Kane County Offices, 16th Circuit Court Facilities Close Thursday

Most Kane County non-emergency facilities will be closed Thursday, Jan. 31, due to extreme cold, and Kane County 16th Circuit Court facilities will be closed Thursday, Jan. 31, as well.

Kane County Boad Chairman Chris Lauzen announced that he is asking all county offices to close on Thursday.

The only exception might be the Kane County Clerk’s Office, which opened on Wednesday while other county offices were closed. It is not clear as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday whether the Clerk’s Office will be open or closed on Thursday.

The Clerk’s Office typically makes that announcement via its Twitter account. Here’s the most recent tweet:

Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Susan Clancy Boles made the announcement via email and posted the announcement on the 16th Circuit Court website that court facilities will be closed both Wednesday and Thursday,

“After further evaluation of the forecast record breaking cold temperatures for Jan. 30, 2019, and the number of closings in and around our circuit, all 16th Judicial Circuits courts and judicial facilities (including branch courts) will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019,” Boles said.
