IDOT: Heads Up! Expressways Getting Pothole Patching Feb. 22
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that pothole patching operations will take place on area expressways during non-peak travel periods today (Friday, Feb. 22).
Motorists are urged to use caution and move over for maintenance crews in the field.
Recent rainfall and freezing temperatures have caused an increase in potholes on area roads. To repair various potholes throughout Cook and the collar counties, IDOT personnel will be out in full force between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Pothole repairs can require brief, intermittent lane closures. Please drive cautiously, slow down and move over when approaching a work zone. IDOT will continue to track locations and make repairs as needed.
Motorists may report potholes on state highways online through IDOT’S web email service or by calling 1-800-452-4368.
