George

“What else is there for entertainment that will hold my attention longer than the flutter of a butterfly’s wings?”

Well, pull yourself out from behind your tablet or phone and allow Kane County Animal Control to introduce you to the real world! KCAC has two of the sweetest, cutest kittens you’re ever going to meet!

Meet George, a white and orange domestic shorthair that was owner-surrendered along with his former housemate, Molly. George is all of about 9-months-old while Molly is about 7-months-old.

What fun it is to watch these kittens play together! It’s like a staccato dance that only the felines in the house know how to perform.

Their scampering down the hallways and tight passages under desks, behind bookshelves and on top of desks means there’s never a dull environment. Pull out a drawer and they’re in it, peeking out from the rim waiting for the other one to walk by so he can jump out, scare her and then run under the desk again.

When George finds the time to settle down, he loves to cuddle and get lots of petting. Maybe he’ll even spend additional time on your lap for a few more minutes of nap time and scratches under the chin.

Then it’s off to find his friend and begin the kitten “dance” again.

KCAC Updates

Tucker and Logan

It is with great pleasure that we announce the adoptions of Tucker and Logan, the middle-aged black cats that were owner-surrendered together to KCAC. They were adopted together after spending almost a year in the cat room at KCAC.

From what we already hear, Tucker has taken position on top of the behemoth cat tree and is giving his new mom assistance with the laundry and other chores.

Logan, who is a bit shyer than Tucker, found his safe haven somewhere within his new home and is waiting for just the right moment to show himself. Take your time, Logan, you’re finally home!

Rocko

Congratulations to Rocko, the 6-year-old Jack (Parson) Russell Terrier with enough energy and love of life to move mountains. Rocko never met anyone he didn’t like, so when his new parents brought their current female dog to meet him, it was love at first sight on both sides of the fence.

We are so happy for you Rocko!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
