Elgin Chamber Offers Unique Chance To Experience China

The Elgin Area Chamber is offering a unique opportunity for community members to experience the Chinese culture, history, and business.

Through a partnership with Citslinc, International, the chamber is offering a cost-effective trip to China from Oct. 5 to Oct. 13, 2019. The trip includes stops in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou with opportunities to visit historic sites like the Great Wall of China and Tiananmen Square.

The Chamber of Commerce will host an informational meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 13, in the Grove Room of the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove, to answer any questions regarding the trip. Please call the Chamber office at 847-741-5660 with any questions.

“The Elgin Area Chamber is pleased to offer this opportunity to the community,” said Carol Gieske, chamber president. “This tour is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to China. It’s extremely affordable and includes visits to major cities, various economic zones, and major historical sites.”

The trip includes round trip airfare from Chicago, hotel accommodations at four- and five-star hotels, three full meals a day, entrance fee to attractions, and access to professional drivers and tour operators.

Some of the highlights include visiting the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, and The Bund. There is also an opportunity to visit with a local Chinese business if there is interest.

This meeting is optional and requires filling out an inquiry form indicating what type of business or industry one is interested in learning more about.
