Kane County Communities Spring 2019 Brush Pick-Up Schedules

Hey, it’s spring! At least until the snow comes at the back end of this week.

And spring means it’s brush pick-up time in Kane County, IL.

Here’s a look at some of the yard waste and brush pickup programs in Kane County communities.

If you have information you’d like to add to this roundup, please email kanecountyconnects@gmail.com.

Algonquin

Groot will provide free pickup of leaves and branches (tied in bundles that are not more than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter) between April 11 through April 19 and again Oct. 1 through Dec. 14 in Algonquin.

Leaves must be placed in standard paper yard waste bags or reusable containers that are clearly marked with a red “X.” Place the bags or cans at the curb, which will be collected on your regular pickup day. Leaves placed in loose piles will NOT be picked up.

Grass clippings and other yard waste will still require a collection sticker. Any bags or cans that contain leaves mixed with other yard waste will also require a collection sticker. The stickers for garbage and yard waste are interchangeable.

Spring Clean-Up Day

Algonquin also has an annual spring clean-up day, which takes place April 6 or April 13.

The program is for single- family residences and townhomes that receive residential refuse and recycling services. The program encourages residents to reduce fire hazards in their homes and to “spruce up” their neighborhoods.

STICKERS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS SPECIAL PICKUP.

Typical discarded items include toys, old clothes, couches, beds, dressers, grills, and patio furniture.
