Waubonsee Offers Spring Training Classes For Public Sector Employees
Sure, there are any number of professional training and development classes for work in the private sector.
But what about govies? Shouldn’t public sector employees be expected to improve their skills, cope with change?
“Heck, yes!” you say.
Well, Waubonsee Community College is offering exactly that: a spring training series geared toward government employee education and performance.
It’s called “Communities of Excellence,” and the deadline to register is April 10, 2019 — but seating is limited, and it’s a good idea to get registered as fast as you can.
“The challenge for government entities is to optimize performance while reducing costs. Municipalities that invest in employee education often see dramatic improvements in performance,” said Edith Rojas, who spearheads the Waubonsee Community College program.
Modules run from 8 a.m. to noon in a series of six workshops on Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus, 18 S. River St.
There’s an investment of $695 per person for the series.
People who take the classes say the program is comprehensive, focused on government employees and inspiring.
