Who’s On The Ballot? Check Out School Board Candidates in April 2 Election
- Editor’s Note: This is part of a series of articles listing candidates in the April 2 consolidated election, as posted by the Kane County Clerk’s Office website.
There really are few elections more important than those for your local school board.
Why? Because these are the folks who decide how, when and where to spend money and human resources on your children’s education. Because school districts account for the vast majority of your property tax dollars. Because the quality of local schools often has a huge effect on property values.
The list of reasons to vote in school board elections, frankly, can go on and on, but the first step you need to take to make an informed choice is to find out who’s on the ballot.
The Kane County Clerk’s Office offers some terrific resources for that, including candidates’ lists, lists of referendum questions and personalized sample ballots so that you know exactly what decisions you’ll have in front of you on April 2.
