When the world seems out of control where nothing makes sense any more, it’s nice to turn to the one furry creature that makes no judgments, doesn’t tell your secrets and is willing to just let you be you.

Honey

If you’re looking for a real “honey” of a four-legged member of your family, look no further than Honey, a 1-year-old Siberian husky mix that arrived at KCAC as a stray.

Honey is so sweet she could almost raise your cholesterol, but fortunately, hanging around with her adds zero calories to your daily intake. If anything, walking her will help your blood flow while your heart will thank you for the additional exercise you’ll get as you become her first trainer and forever buddy.

She loves to get attention from anyone who will turn in her direction. Other dogs don’t bother her as long as they keep to themselves. In fact, if Honey could be the only dog in the house, it would make for the absolute ideal partnership.

As Honey squeezes herself onto your lap for cuddle time or lays down by your feet as you relax on the patio after a long day of playing fetch, a warm feeling of contentment washes over you.

For some reason, the crazy world that seemed out of control not so long ago, now actually makes sense as long as Honey is by your side.

Congratulations to Onyx, our 7-month-old black lab puppy with enough energy to turn back time.

Onyx left KCAC for his forever home, tail wagging all the way. We’re so happy for you, Onyx.

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
