Get Your Very Own Rain Barrel — In A Variety of New Colors!
Kane County has a rain barrel sale currently going on in coordination with The Conservation Foundation.
Buy your rain barrel and check out the other products available here.
The rain barrels are offered in a variety of colors, including a new avocado green color!
These rain barrels are produced from barrels originally used to ship food overseas to markets in the United States.
In most places, the barrels would be sent to a landfill after being emptied. However, Upcycle Products Inc. takes these food grade barrels and turns them into rain barrels for a responsibly sourced sustainably stormwater practice!
And their rain barrel pedestals are made from recycled wooden fencing.
Kane County Environmental and Water Resources is hosting a Rain Barrel Pick-up Day in partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County and The Conservation Foundation.
The Pick-Up Day will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Creek Bend Nature Center in the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles. You have the option to pick up your barrel at this event or have it delivered to your home for an extra charge.
