KDOT: Heads Up For ComEd Work, Lane Closures on Dunham Road

The Kane County Division of Transportation is giving drivers a heads up regarding lane closures on Dunham Road due to Commonwealth Edison tree trimming and utility pole relocation.

According to a KDOT news releases, ComEd contractors are scheduled to start the work on Monday, May 27.

Officials say the work will enhance service reliability in the area.

The work on Dunham Road will run from Royal Fox Drive to Brewster Creek Circle.

Construction work hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, requiring temporary daily lane closures and flaggers directing traffic for the safety of the workers and the traveling public.

Dunham Road will remain open during this work, but drivers should expect temporary daily lane closures and flaggers.

Warning To Drivers

KDOT warns drivers to be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, and be extra alert. Watch for construction workers, construction vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone.

Expect delays while traveling through the work areas. You may want to add additional time to your commute and consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

KDOT reminds drivers that it is illegal to talk on a cell phone while traveling through a highway construction work zone.
