KDOT: Peplow Road Closed Now Through November To Replace Bridge
Beginning this week (May 7, 2019), Peplow Road will be closed to traffic between Ramm Road and Middleton Road in Burlington Township in order to safely replace the existing bridge structure.
The project is anticipated to be complete in November 2019, the Kane County Division of Transportation said in a news release.
The improvements will include:
- Removal and replacement the existing bridge structure.
- Earth excavation and embankment grading.
- Constructing new bituminous shoulders and pavement.
- Steel sheet pile retaining wall.
- Drainage structures.
- Restoration and landscaping.
All bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid using the area during construction for the safety of both the workers and the residents.
A posted detour route will direct traffic around the closure using McGough Road to the west. The public is advised to safely adhere to the speed limit while following the posted detour route around the project and to expect increased travel times.

Expect delays while traveling through the work areas. You may want to add additional time to your commute and consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.
