Learn About Flooding, Stormwater at Kane County’s May 17 ‘When It Rains ….’ Event!
What exactly is stormwater and how can it benefit your back yard?
Find out at the “When It Rains …” event hosted by the Kane County Division of Environmental and Water Resources from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 17.
Jim Kleinwachter with The Conservation Foundation will explain what stormwater is, how to use it, and where to find sustainably sourced rain barrels.
Flood Preparedness
Also at the “When It Rains … ” event, residents can get information on how to prepare for a flood. A film on flood preparedness will be shown, and Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland’s Disaster Debris Management Guides will be available.

“We want the residents of Kane County to have an opportunity to learn how they can deal with (and benefit from) these intense spring rains that we are currently experiencing,” said Resource Management Coordinator Jessica Mino.
“This information is applicable throughout the year, but is most relevant during this season.”
