6 Kane County High Schools Make U.S. News Best List For 2019
More Kane County high schools made U.S. News’ 2019 list of top 100 best high schools — six in total, compared to four in 2018 — an overall strong showing in the prestigious analysis.
A few high schools in Kane County also fell among the U.S. News rankings from a year ago, but also on the “good news” side, several “unranked” high schools rose to the elite status.
The highest ranked U.S. public schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 Best High Schools rankings are those whose attendees demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math and reading state assessments, passed a diverse array of college-level exams and graduated in high proportions.
Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college.
Under U.S. News’ revamped 2019 rankings methodology, nearly every public high school was ranked.
