Geneva resident might have noticed fences up and around the former Orlando’s Pizza site as well as the vacant site at the northeast corner of East Side Drive and East State Street (IL Route 38).

City of Geneva Community Development Director David DeGroot says that there are no development plans at this time, but there has been some activity.

“The property has been purchased by ALDI,” he said via email this week. “They are preparing to demolish the Orlando’s building, and it is my understanding that they may want to expand their parking lot in the future.”

An Aldi store is located on the site to the east of that corner.
