Aurora Partners With Clarios To Offer 2 Dozen Jobs
The city of Aurora announced this week a new partnership with Clarios, formerly Johnson Control Power Solutions, to offer jobs to Aurora residents.
A global leader in advanced stored solutions, Clarios produces car batteries that power one in three of the worlds’ vehicles. With its global headquarters in Milwaukee, Clarios operates a production facility in the Fox Valley with more than 200 employees, the majority of whom reside in Aurora.
“I’ve met with dozens of local manufacturers who are seeking dependable employees and have crossed paths with hundreds of residents who are seeking employment,” said Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin. “From my office, we want to do more to meet the demands of employers and potential employees from our community. I am excited to partner with Clarios to provide employment opportunities with our residents.”
Clarios is hiring for two dozen second and third shift positions. The positions start at $15.50 per hour with an added shift differential, cost of living adjustments and performance-based incentives that can increase the hourly rate to $22 per hour.
“Collaborating with Mayor Irvin’s office is a win-win for our company and the community,” said Clarios Plant Human Resources Manager John Aguilar, an Aurora resident who also serves on the Aurora Housing Authority Board of Directors. “While we are seeking quality employees, I also personally want to help others build a foundation, provide for their families and have a secure future.”
As part of the collaboration, Irvin and Clarios will host a hiring event for Aurora residents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place.
Candidates for employment can complete the Clarios application and interview onsite with members of Aguilar’s HR team for jobs beginning in August.
“Whether it is the young person just starting out or someone who is seeking another employment opportunity to provide for their family, we want to be a resource,” said Mayor Irvin. “Our partnership with Clarios is just the beginning. I look forward to working with other companies in the area to offer the same platform.”

Johnson Controls Is Now Clarios
Clarios, formerly Johnson Controls Power Solutions, launched as a new entity and world leader in advanced energy storage solutions with an announcement on May 1 that Clarios was acquired by Brookfield Business Partners.
Clarios operates as a global energy storage business, generating $8 billion in revenues with more than 16,000 employees, 56 facilities worldwide and 130 years of expertise.
Clarios will build on its leading position in vehicle battery technologies — producing one-third of the automotive industry’s total output per year — while more aggressively exploring ways to meet the fast-growing energy storage needs of tomorrow.
