The Mill Race Redevelopment planning charrette took another step forward June 26 as four concepts were unveiled to the public during an open house held at Riverside Receptions and Conference Center in Geneva.

The preliminary concepts were based on the feedback given at the charrette’s public presentation on June 24 and numerous individual community stakeholder interviews.

The historic mill race building is retained in three of the four scenarios. It would be demolished under the “Corner Passage” concept plan.

The summaries of each concept are as follows.

Eat Out

A 10,000 square-foot destination restaurant located at the corner of State Street (Route 38) and Route 25 and parking spaces behind the building. Public open space is included.

Home On The Water

A mixed-use development featured 5,600-square-feet of commercial space, 22 townhomes, parking and public open space.

Corner Passage

Residential components included seven townhomes and 117 apartments with public and private parking.

Also featured a quasi-public amenity space building as well as public open space.

State & Bennett

Another residential plan designed with 10 townhomes and 83 apartments with public and private parking.

Survey, Wrap-Up Presentation

After reviewing the four concepts, people are encouraged to share their feedback with another online survey.

The community also is invited to participate in the Mill Race Redevelopment Public Wrap-Up presentation scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Riverside Receptions, 35 N. River Lane.
