Nighttime Lane Closures For I-90 Near Lawrence Exit Ramp Start June 17
Heads up, Kane County residents, if you drive at night on I-90.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that repairs to the retaining wall at the Lawrence Avenue exit and entrance ramps to the eastbound Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90) in Chicago will require overnight lane and ramp closures starting, weather permitting, June 17.
In order to complete the project, lane and ramp closures will take place on the eastbound Kennedy Expressway at Lawrence Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Fridays and 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Saturdays.
The work is expected to be complete by mid-August.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
