Aurora Offers Residents FREE Healthy Cooking Workshops From a Celebrity Chef

The city of Aurora is offering residents free healthy cooking workshops from a celebrity chef — but you’ll have to act fast to register because the deadline is July 5.

Hutmacher

Led by celebrity chef and the first-ever Weightwatchers consulting chef Ryan Hutmacher, the 90-minute courses, titled “For the Health of It,” will provide participants with an in-depth focused workshop and a cooking demonstration.

A registered dietitian will also be onsite to answer questions.

“We are excited to partner with Chef Ryan for our staff and to extend his expertise to our residents,” said Alisia Lewis, the city’s human resources director and former assistant chief of staff. “Health should be a community-wide priority and these workshops will educate and empower participants.”

The first course, Learning to Enjoy Healthier Foods, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail. Participants will learn how to influence themselves to eat better and make ‘suddenly sauces’ in the cooking demonstration.

The second course, Reinventing Leftovers, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, from at Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place. Participants will learn cooking improvisation techniques that save time and money and make ‘simply stir fry’ in the cooking demonstration.

Participants can register for one or both courses at https://tinyurl.com/AuroraCooking by Friday, July 5, 2019.

Featured on ABC’s The Chew, The Today Show, most major networks and in Men’s Health and Good Housekeeping magazines, Hutmacher has made it his life’s mission to help others to get to a healthy state of living.  The founder of Centered Chef, Hutmacher partners with large corporations, small businesses, non-profit organizations and universities to empower their employees and communities.
