Aurora Police Seek Information on Fatal Shooting of 19-Year-Old Woman

Aurora police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old woman on the city’s near east side late Friday night.

According to an Aurora Police Department news release, officers were dispatched just after 10:20 p.m. Friday (July 26, 2019) to a report of a person shot in the 400 block of East Benton Street. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Aurora police detectives responded to the scene to begin a homicide investigation and canvas the area for witnesses and information about the shooting. APD’s crime lab and evidence technicians also responded to the scene to identify and collect forensic evidence from the shooting.
