Bigtime Traffic Signal Adjustments Coming Soon To 4 Busy Randall Road Intersections

The Kane County Division of Transportation is advising drivers to “Watch Your Signal” as KDOT initiates traffic signal staging adjustments at four busy intersections along Randall Road from Wednesday, July 17, to Friday, July 19, 2019, weather permitting.

Signal staging adjustments will be conducted at:

  • Randall Road and Oak Street
  • Randall Road and Bricher Road
  • Randall Road at Williamsburg Avenue
  • Randall Road at Fabyan Parkway

Adjustments to signal staging will be conducted to selected left turn lanes, which will affect when the left turn-green arrows are functioning in the signal cycle.

The left-turn green arrows could be activated after through traffic is permitted to progress through the intersection, and both left-turn lanes will not be running the same staging.

This adjustment is a change in the normal progression of signal phasing, and KDOT advises motorists to watch the signal in their lane of traffic closely.

“The adjustments are planned to more efficiently manage the progression of traffic along the Randall Road corridor,” KDOT officials said in a news release.

KDOT encourages motorists to Watch Your Signal. Additional information regarding the traffic-signal improvement can be found on our homepage at http://www.co.kane.il.us/dot/default.aspx with a link to more information and explanatory diagrams.

The signal staging improvements will be conducted at several existing busy intersections along Randall Road. The motoring public should be aware of changes to the signals in this section of the corridor.
