Randall Road at McDonald/Stearns Road Intersection Improvement Starts Aug. 5
Get ready for road work in South Elgin, as Kane County’s Division of Transportation begins pavement resurfacing on Monday, Aug. 5, on Randall Road from Thornwood Avenue to Gyorr Avenue, as well as on McDonald/Stearns Road from 250 feet west of Briargate Drive to 400 feet east of Randall Road.
According to a KDOT news release, the work will require temporary daily lane closures and flaggers directing traffic for the safety of the workers and the public.
Additionally, overnight lane closures of one of the dual left-turn lanes is required to construct electrical heavy duty handholes.
KDOT officials say the work may take up to four weeks to complete all four legs of the intersection, and completion will be dependent on weather conditions.
Motorists should expect long delays while traveling through the work areas and should add additional time to their commutes.
