Weekend Events! Sugar Grove Corn Boil Set For July 25-28
The Sugar Grove Corn Boil will be hosting its annual summer festival from July 25 to July 28, 2019.
The Corn Boil’s mission is to promote a sense of community, provide local civic and charitable groups with fundraising opportunities, as well as, offer affordable family fun, with tasty sweet corn as one of the main attractions.
For more than 50 years, the Corn Boil festival has been widely attended by not just the residents of Sugar Grove, but by those in the surrounding communities, and even some from afar.
The festivities include fireworks, Bingo, a car show, a very cool medallion hunt, a carnival and live music. Click the links below for more information.

7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 26: Thirsty Boots Band
Thirsty Boots Band is the Chicago area’s rockin’ Country band! Covering today’s top artists and a few great classics.
9:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, July 26: The Redmonds
Playing everything from Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash to Civil Wars and the Lumineers, The Redmonds perform as an acoustic duo featuring the impeccable harmonies of Mike and Katie Redmond; as well as a full band with some of the best musicians in the region.
Showcased at Fitzgerald’s and as an opening act for REO Speedwagon, The Redmonds appeal to fans age 6 to 60 and put on a show with something for everyone.
4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 27: Bad Medicine
Bad Medicine was formed and led by lifelong Bon Jovi fan, Joe Frasca, back in February 2001. Through the years, the talented collection of musicians has proven time and time again that Bad Medicine is truly the “next best thing.”
In recent years, Bad Medicine has added several “non-Jovi” songs from the same genre, for those longer sets and situations that require a more diverse performance. However, they remain Chicagoland’s favorite band for Bon Jovi, and still play more Bon Jovi than anyone else in the scene.
6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27: Friction
Friction plays “all the classic rock others bands forgot.”
8:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 27: Semple
Semple is a Chicago based band that prides itself on it’s entertaining combination of musicianship and high energy stage performance.
2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 28: Landslide Chicago
Landslide Chicago is a Fleetwood Mac Tribute band from the Chicagoland area, established in 2016.
4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 28: Anthem
Established in 2014 as And Beyond, Anthem is an all-live musical experience that goes above and beyond Classic Rock, covering all-time favorites like Styx, REO, Boston, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Queen, Journey, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Foreigner, Alice in Chains, Triumph, and more!
Corn Boil 5K Run And Walk
Run along residential streets of Sugar Grove in this fast, flat two-lap course. The 3.1 mile USATF certified course is electronically timed and features traffic control, splits at 1 and 2 miles, first aid and water stations, and post-race snacks.
Free Parking
Volunteer Park is located in a neighborhood with parking available on village streets.
Please be courteous to our neighbors, ensuring that vehicles do not block any driveways, and obey all “No Parking” signs. We have to maintain enough space for emergency vehicles to be able to access the area.Guests are welcome to park in specified parking lots and take the Free shuttle service that is available to and from these lots during all the festival hours:
- Sugar Grove Library parking lot located at 125 Municipal Dr.
- Municipal (village hall/police station) center parking lot located at 10 Municipal Dr.
Fun for the kids is the large hay wagon shuttle pulled by a tractor which makes a loop continually during the festivities, dropping off and picking up at two park entrances and the library. Free golf cart shuttles will also be patrolling the streets to get you comfortably to and from the park.
Senior, Handicapped, and all Veterans are invited to park in the lot directly in front of John Shields Elementary School located at 85 S. Main Street. There will be six Veteran Preferred spaces in the Senior/Handicapped lot.
Motorcycles are welcome to park on the concrete sidewalk and around the flagpole in front of John Shields Elementary School located at 85 S. Main St.
