Fabyan Parkway Down To One Lane Wednesday, Aug. 28 (Or Maybe Thursday, Depending on Weather)

The Kane County Division of Transportation is giving drivers a heads up that the Fabyan Bridge will be down to one lane on Wednesday, Aug. 28. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, that date might be Thursday, Aug. 29.

The work will take place from 5:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on whatever day the work takes place. Crews are pouring new wearing surface on the bridge.

As with previous Fabyan Bridge lane closures, motorists are “strongly advised to seek alternate routes during this work.”

The work is part of the bridge  rehabilitation that has been ongoing since June with other work consisting of light pole cleaning and painting, and bridge structural repair and maintenance. This project is being constructed in multiple stages with an anticipated completion date of December 2019.

Subsequent stages in the coming weeks will also include additional staging of Fabyan Parkway to one lane of traffic in each direction until project completion. Motorists are to be cautious and be alert for new lane configurations as well as equipment on the bridge and workers walking within the work zone.

Questions and concerns regarding this work may be directed to KDOT Project Manager David Boesch at 630-584-1170 or boeschdavid@co.kane.il.us.
