KDOT Alert: Fabyan Parkway Down to One Lane Aug. 21 For Bridge Improvement

Traffic will be reduced to one lane on the Fabyan Parkway Bridge, with flaggers controlling vehicle flow from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 21 to allow crews room to safely pour the new wearing surface on the bridge.

The Kane County Division of Transportation says motorists “are strongly advised to seek alternate routes during this work.”

The work is part of the bridge rehabilitation, which also includes light pole cleaning and painting, and bridge structural repair and maintenance. The project is being constructed in multiple stages with an anticipated completion date of December 2019, weather permitting.

Subsequent stages in the coming weeks include additional staging of Fabyan Parkway to one lane of traffic in each direction until project completion.

As this portion of Fabyan Parkway can experience very heavy traffic, much longer than normal traffic delays are expected during this portion of the construction.

Questions and concerns regarding this work may be directed to KDOT Project Manager David Boesch at 630-584-1170 or boeschdavid@co.kane.il.us.
