Elgin Police: Help Us Find Man Who Showed Inappropriate Photo To Juvenile Driver
The Elgin Police Department is reporting another disturbing encounter between an adult subject and a juvenile victim.
Since the start of the school year, area police departments have reported several incidents involving contact of an inappropriate nature, including charges against a 79-Year-Old Batavia school bus aide and an Elgin man suspected of exposing himself at an elementary school.
At around 6:42 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 10, 2019), Elgin police were notified of a suspicious incident that began in the 3100 block of Heritage Parkway when a juvenile victim was reportedly followed by a black Honda Accord-style vehicle with a hatchback, tinted windows and silver trim.
The driver was described as a bearded white male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a black shirt and black hat.
When the victim was in the 3100 block of Primrose, the suspect allegedly showed the juvenile an inappropriate photo while he remained in his vehicle. Police said no physical contact was made with the victim.
According to police, the victim became fearful and immediately notified an adult, who called the Elgin Police Department. The suspect drove away when the juvenile was talking to an adult.
Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are investigating the incident.
