Elgin Township Assessments Publish Sept. 11 in Elgin Courier-News
Good morning, Elgin Township!
As a special treat today (Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019), the 2019 assessment changes for property in Elgin Township are being published in the Elgin Courier-News.
That means, if you want to challenge your property tax assessment, the final filing deadline doing so is Oct. 11, 2019.
After all revisions and corrections by the township assessor were applied, each non-farm property in the township was equalized with a factor of 1.0615.

Steven P. Surnicki is the Elgin Township assessor. He holds a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer designation and has been a licensed State of Illinois Certified Real Estate Appraiser since 1991.

Filing Deadlines
So, to recap:
Assessment complaints for property in Elgin Township must be filed by Oct. 11, 2019; by state law, no assessment complaints for property in this township can be accepted after this date.
Assessment changes in Aurora Township were published Sept. 5; the final filing deadline for Aurora Township is Oct. 7, 2019.
Assessment changes in Dundee and St. Charles townships were published Aug. 22; the final filing deadline for these townships is Sept. 23, 2019.
Assessment changes in Blackberry Township were published Aug. 15; the final filing deadline for this township is Sept. 16, 2019.
Assessment changes in Big Rock Township were published Aug. 12; the final filing deadline for this township is today (Sept. 11, 2019. )
The final filing deadlines for Batavia, Campton, Hampshire,Kaneville, Plato, Sugar Grove, and Virgil Townships have passed; by law, assessment complaints can no longer be accepted for these townships.
Assessment changes for Burlington, Geneva, and Rutland Townships have not yet been published; as of today, no final filing deadline has been established for these townships.
