The Electric Vehicle revolution is here, and Kane County is celebrating during Drive Electric Week, Sept. 14 through Sept. 22, 2019!

Kane County has been at the forefront of this movement with three Kane County EV charging stations available for public use year round, in addition to the other EV stations installed by other municipalities or private ownership.

The county EV charging stations are located at the Kane County Courthouse on Third Street in Geneva, Government Center on South Batavia Avenue in Geneva, and the Health Department on North Highland Avenue in Aurora.

Drive Electric Week is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.

Electric vehicles are now less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Activities for Drive Electric Week include a celebration from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Naperville Test Track, 1720 W. Jefferson Ave.

Come out to Naperville to experience the Electric Vehicle Ride-n-Drive and Parade sponsored by the Fox Valley Electric Auto Association, a not-for-profit organization of volunteer dedicated to educating the public and promoting Electric Vehicles.
